Living a full life involves taking some
risk. There are consequences for action, but also consequences
for inaction. Regrets for not taking action can haunt
you.
Some of our greatest leaders and inventors
are excellent examples of determination to live a full
and free life. The signers of the Declaration of Independence,
the Wright brothers building an airplane, Lewis and
Clark exploring uncharted territory and Rosa Parks sitting
on the bus-all took risks. Imagine how our lives would
be different if they had chosen to act differently
or
not act at all.
Taking a risk strengthens who we become
in our jobs, our relationships and in following our
dreams. It isn't necessary to build an airplane, make
a political statement or trek across an unknown country.
Simply figure out what your own dreams are and reach
for them. Hike the Grand Canyon. Learn to paint. Tell
someone you love them. Visit Antarctica. Try out for
a sports team. Take flying lessons. Whatever you do,
embrace your dreams
and be willing to take a risk
to follow them. It's called living your best life.
